General Information

 

The German Language Teaching Doctorate Program is organized as four years program. The first year includes theoretical courses. Starting from the second year, thesis study is carried out. The curriculum of the first year consists of theoretical courses. Accordingly, there are five courses in the first semester and five courses in the second semester. Each semester students are required to obtain 15 credits and 30 ECTS points. The theoretical courses cover the fields of Linguistics, Language Acquisition, Literary Science and Foreign Language Methodology. The evaluation of the courses is carried out according to the Direct Conversion System with 40% credited to the midterm exam and 60% to the final exam. The average success score at the end of the semester must be at least 3.00 points. The Doctoral Program consists of courses, qualifying exam, thesis proposal and thesis study.

 

Qualification Awarded

Students who successfully graduate from the the German Language Teaching Doctorate Program are awarded a doctorate in German Language Teaching.

 

Job Opportunities

Students who successfully graduate from the German Language Teaching Doctorate Program can work in various units of the Ministry of National Education and Higher Education Institutions. They are also entitled to continue their academic career by taking up Post-doctoral studies.
